Keeping legal requirements in mind: F-Gas Regulation 2024

With the current F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573, the EU tightens requirements for the use of fluorinated refrigerants in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems. The goal is the complete phase-out of HFCs by 2050. Significant quantity limits and bans already apply today for refrigerants with high GWP (Global Warming Potential). For operators and planners, this means: Only those who switch early to natural refrigerants like CO₂ (R744), ammonia (NH₃), or propane (R290) remain compliant and economically future-proof. For further questions about the F-Gas Regulation, our specialists from Friedrich von Nida Kälte- und Klimaanlagen GmbH, Konzmann Kältetechnik GmbH, and Trenker GmbH are happy to assist.

Energetic Optimization
of Your Refrigeration Systems

Whether ice rink, machine tool cooling, or NH3 application in a dairy, brewery, or food production – all industrial refrigeration systems are individually designed.

Leistung_Kaelte_Klimaschutz_u_Co2_Neutralitaet
Especially in light of the new F-Gas Regulation, great importance is placed on energy efficiency both in planning and execution. Regardless of company size, the energetic optimization of a refrigeration system should always be a priority. Life cycle criteria, as well as waste heat utilization with heat recovery, play a significant role in climate protection and achieving CO2 neutrality. At the same time, a short payback period and operational reliability are also key focuses.
  • NH3 applications
  • Ammonia-water absorption refrigeration systems
  • CO2 refrigeration units in all versions
  • Frigen refrigeration machines
  • Individual and custom-made systems for any area of application
  • Cold room construction in all sizes
  • Combined systems
  • Heat pumps
  • Heat recovery systems
  • VE cooling systems
  • Ultra-low temperature refrigeration systems
  • Flo-ice systems

Food refrigeration
without interruption

Refrigerated cabinets, cold rooms, or liquefaction and combined systems: KONZMANN supports your business in setting up cooling rooms and storage facilities of any size – from standard refrigeration to ultra-low temperature cooling.

Complete provider for cold chain systems

About 50 percent of the total energy consumption in the food retail sector is used for refrigeration. Additionally, the phase-out of various refrigerants under the F-Gas Regulation adds further pressure. Therefore, it makes sense to modernize existing systems or replace them with high-efficiency equipment. This is where we, as a full-service provider, come into play — supporting you and your cold chain system from project planning through to regular operation and beyond.
  • Chilled water units
  • Cold rooms and cold cells
  • Combined systems
  • Refrigerated furniture and store fittings
  • Heat pumps
  • Heat recovery systems
  • Ultra-low temperature systems
  • Custom-built special equipment

Compact ice storage systems

Ice storage systems are used in industries with short-term high cooling demands and phases of low cooling load. These systems are commonly employed in the chemical industry, breweries, dairies, and the food industry.

Storing cooling energy in the form of ice is a proven technology for many sectors, as it allows the required cooling capacity to be supplied in sync with the cooling demand—without the need for a large cooling unit with high electrical power consumption.

  • Wide performance range: 12 capacity levels from 20 kW to 260 kW storage capacity
  • Compact ice storage system
  • Required cooling capacity synchronized with cooling demand
  • Proven technology

Energy reimagined: Sustainable heating and cooling with efficient large-scale heat pumps for commercial and industrial applications

With innovative technology for more sustainability and less CO₂ — start the energy transition in your company now! Large-scale heat pumps offer particularly energy-efficient and sustainable solutions for providing heating and cooling in industry and commerce. They make it possible to tap into previously unused waste heat from production processes or building technology as a valuable energy source, thereby specifically replacing fossil fuels. Modern large heat pumps achieve high performance ranges and can be used even for industrial processes with increased temperature requirements — for example, heating, air conditioning, or hot water generation in large buildings and production facilities. By integrating large heat pumps into existing systems, often combined with heat recovery and smart controls, operating costs can be reduced and CO₂ emissions significantly lowered. These systems work most efficiently when powered by renewable electricity or in combination with photovoltaics. The flexible cascade arrangement of multiple heat pumps allows optimal coverage of heating and cooling demand even with fluctuating loads. Practical examples show that large heat pumps are successfully used in the textile and food industries, paint shops, server centers, and for heating and cooling office and commercial buildings. They thus make a crucial contribution to decarbonization and achieving climate protection goals in business. The KONZMANN Group companies take care of complete planning, design, and implementation of large heat pump solutions for their customers — always tailored to the specific requirements of each industrial or commercial operation. Through careful analysis of existing processes and energy sources as well as integration of modern control and heat recovery systems, KONZMANN experts ensure that each system is optimally designed. In this way, they help customers achieve maximum energy efficiency and sustainability and implement climate protection targets economically and future-proof.
